Archbishop Sheen is being declared a Venerable! This of course means that he’s been declared to have demonstrated “heroic virtue.”
Congratulations to Rochester and Peoria and all their people, and to that lady who was naming her kid Fulton!
Congrats, Rich!
Venerable Fulton Sheen, pray for us!
UPDATE: How it played in Peoria.
A negative-ish take from a Rochester newspaper. The other news sources in Rochester don’t seem to have covered the story yet.

While I am happy about this announcement, I am still holding out that Ven. Solanus Casey will be the first American born male saint. Detroit!

FWIW, the Democrat & Chronicle’s account of the Reeves biography, which characterizes Sheen’s time in Rochester as an unmitigated disaster, is accurate and seems to be a justifiable description of his tenure there. Sheen was a wonderful preacher and holy man, but a terrible and high-handed administrator.
