2. When a website’s registration lapses, GoDaddy usually tries to buy it so as to sell it back to the hapless ex-owner. They call this “parking the webpage,” but it’s really grabbing the URL. This is probably what just happened.
3. Basically, the archdiocese has been shaken down for money, albeit after becoming careless. Hopefully they will not have to continue doing business with GoDaddy, but they may be stuck with it for the next year or so.
4. It could have been a worse group than GoDaddy, sad to say. So keep your registration safe.
