Steve Trosley

Veteran journalist Stephen A. Trosley, most recently publisher and editor of The Journal-Standard in Freeport, IL, has been appointed by Cincinnati Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr to be editor-in-chief of The Catholic Telegraph, effective January 3.

The 180-year-old Telegraph is the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, mailed monthly to about 155,000 households in the 19-county archdiocese.

At The Catholic Telegraph he succeeds Tricia Hempel, who resigned in June after 18 years.

For an example of his work, here is a recent column of his from The Journal-Standard on the subject of illegal immigration.
