It was heartening to see so many worshipers at the 12:10 Mass today for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God at St. Rose of Lima parish — one of four Masses they offered for this Holy Day of Obligation. It was as crowded as the typical mid-morning Sunday Mass, which is standing room only if you don’t arrive early. On a variety of levels, 2012 was a challenging year. Uber-blogger Fr. Z posts his resolutions for 2013 on his site this morning. I’m going to keep mine simple: to live my life as a Catholic father, husband, and member of the laity better this year than last, building on the hope of this afternoon’s Mass. Happy New Year to all.
