On Easter Sunday, when your host was trying to sun himself on the cloud-covered beaches of Florida’s Gulf coast, the local television network WLWT interviewed Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr of Cincinnati about the state of the archdiocese and the Church universal.

Highlights include the growth of seminarians — from 27 when he arrived five years ago as an adjudicator to 45 now — and his terrific response to whether subjects like women’s ordination will get a new hearing from Pope Francis: “These are not the policies of the Church, but the teachings of Christ; no, they will not change.”
